A: DON DRUMMOND EASTERN STANDARD TIME (One of JA's most influential instrumentalists and a real legend of his own...Ska-Talite Mr. Drummond here plays a wonderful sweet melody w/ a killing wild-wild-west-touch...absolutely top-tune from Duke Reid's Treasure Isle...classic instrumental ska at its very very best...comes as original UK press on the legendary Island-label...1964 original press...watch out...and watch out for my other early reggae-, rock-steady- and ska-items...soundfile on request...just send in your email-address!!!) B: DOTTY & BONNY SUN RISES (Sweet sweet ska-vocal by the overseen Dotty & Bonny (or Dottie & Bonny as they often appear)...the lyrics sound somewhat naive but the performance simply is perfect...as is the killer backing...which is a straight affair...w/ great trumpet-solo (possibly delivered by Baba Brooks or Johnny Moore)...more great ska from Duke Reid!) ORIGINAL PRESS (NOT A RE-PRESS) FEATURE: COLOURS OF JAH RAINBOW WAX'N'SOUND: vg+ / vg+, both sides show some light wear, surface marks and light surface scratches, has nice shine, plays pop-a-top w/ clear & full sound, has big big punch, there's some light crackle to be expected! LABEL: shows general wear, writings/markings, NO damages - watch the scan, please! Something 'bout Sound + Vision: We shouldn't rely on visual appearance alone (as pretty looks isn’t all as they say) - therefore these records are graded after their visual appearance and their sound quality! I personally prefer a record with crackling but strong sound + punch to one playing clean but with surface noise from the pressing (as we find with re-pressed discs - too - often). Grading records is a very subjective thing but I try hard to be objective as a human being can be (yes indeed, this seller is a human being). THIS IS MY VINYL GRADING SCALE: EX (= really great - EX means "excellent", really...) VG (= nice, if you don't have an excellent one - by the way: VG means "very good"...) G (= playable, but you might find a better one - G means "good", but this term may be a bit euphemistic to reggae-vinyl-novices. Be realistic: a record graded G doesn't jump nor stick, but that's the best I can say about it...) P (= just a collection-filler for the hard-edged + hardest-boiled collectors + selectors + all the rudegals out there - P stands for "poor", yunno...)
