SOUTH BEND WATCH CO Cal 429 GOLD POCKET WATCH c1928

This South Bend Watch Co. gold pocket watch is in very good condition. The watch has the calibre 429, 19 jewelled movement, adjusted for temperature and 4 positions. It dates from around 1928.

The double screwed, gold filled case is in very good condition with no dings, dents or scratches. It measures 45mm in diameter and 10mm deep. The rear cover is marked internally with the South Bend, ‘Panama’ markers mark, the case serial number and the 20 year gold plating guarantee. The domed mineral watch glass is probably original. It remains clear and unmarked.

The satin silver dial is very clean.

The 19 jewelled, calibre 429, double roller, adjusted, lever movement is very clean and working well. It is signed with the South Bend Watch Co details and carries the serial number 1217420. This dates the watch to around 1928. It is wound and set by the crown.

Please refer to the photographs for more detail. Please appreciate that the magnified images show detail much greater than would be visible with the naked eye. Any dark patches or marks on the highly polished surfaces are almost certainly reflections of my camera.
