Up for bid is a vintage 1966 hardcover book with dustjacket titled "THE DOLL BOOK" by Estelle Ansley Worrell - Step-by-step patterns for creating a whole family of dolls in perfect costumes. The first volume written by this author was THE DOLLHOUSE BOOK. Book is in overall good condiiton (slight tearing on edges of dustjacket...some light staining in first four pages (not bad)...precious owner's name written in front of book. Pages are tight. A slight musty smell from storage.
In this book you will find step-by-step directions for creating a whole family of five basic dolls (CLOTH) from a three and one-half inch baby doll to a plump governess or grandmother. Patterns include 17 basic faces with dozens of variations and directions for creating authentic hair styles for all three periods ( Seventeenth Century - Eighteenth Century - Empire Century - Mid-Nineteenth and Civil War - Late- Nineteenth Century).
