A lovely vintage Smiths Westminster Chime clock with key.
This model was the "LISBON" and was in production from 1962 to 1965.
It has progressive quarterly westminster chimes with full tune on the hour along with the number of hours being struck.
It has a Smiths key and has been tick tocking away for a number of days.
It has a floating balance escapement, simple to use and negates the need to set the clock in beat to the surface it is placed on.
A Chime / Silent lever is on the face of the clock at the 9o'clock position.
Measures approx- 8 1/4" high by 10" wide with a depth of 4"
Generally its in good condition but I don't know a great deal about clocks so I will tell you what I can see:
I guess it could probably do with a service as the chimes seem to start about 5 mins after the hour.
The glass is a little loose but I think the metal retainer probably just needs adjusting.
It does have a few scratches commensurate with use.
